Does P/W ratio predict 0-60 mph time?
It's a strong predictor but not the only factor. Traction, gearing, launch control, aerodynamics, and tyre grip all play roles. As a rough guide, a car with 0.15 kW/kg will typically run 0-60 in around 5–6 seconds, while 0.30+ kW/kg usually means sub-4 seconds with good traction.
Should I use kerb weight or gross weight?
Use kerb weight for performance comparisons — that's the vehicle ready to drive (full fluids, no passengers). Gross vehicle weight (GVW) includes maximum payload and gives a much lower P/W that isn't useful for acceleration comparisons.
What car has the best production power-to-weight ratio?
